2007                                                                    updated: 11-26-07

Good news was just received on the national front! The National Park Service will continue to allow snowmobiles into Yellow Stone Park in future years.  Despite the efforts of the Environmental Nazi's in trying to keep us out of our own National Parks, the NPS saw through their lies and scare tactics and recognizes that snowmobiling is an acceptable way to visit Yellowstone. Although the decision was not written exactly the way we would have liked, it is still preferable over the alternative of losing all access. Thank you to all the Access Groups and individual snowmobilers who have fought this battle over these past several years. You done good!

                                                                                updated 9-23-2007

Talking with DNR officers, they seemed to think the night speed limit helped keep the number of snowmobile deaths down this past year.  But seeing we had a fairly low snow year, they want to extend the trial period by two more years.  It is the believe of members of the AWSC, that this would be a fair test to the law. For the 2006-2007 season there were 26 deaths, 22 of those did not have snowmobile safety.
